The beginnings...

My passion for teddy bears is recent... I indeed discovered this fabulous teddy bear's world thanks to a friend on 24th february 2003 and given birth to my first bear the 7th march 2003... Even if Tit'Alec have "old joints" (metal cotterpins and cardboard disks), glass eyes, he's in cotton fabric with squares...

The passion for these small creatures started and, quickly, I made my second bear, in mohair and cashmere this time... Then, I started to draw myself the patterns of my new friends...

Tit'Alec

As my first passion was the miniature (scale 1/12), some bears don't exceed 15 cm... But, others are much bigger...

Today, I am very pleased to share this passion with you presenting to you my original creations (one of a kind or limited edition), and, perhaps, giving you a new passion thanks to the kits to make yourself your own teddy bear...

Make a Teddy Bear...

The first step is the idea... So sometimes this one appears clearly, another times it's not so easy to make a realizable project... The aspect of the bear, the size, the colors and the materials used are important factors...

The design of the pattern is a significant step of manufacture because it sometimes happens to have an idea and that the finished bear does not resemble it...

About materials used, I use each time high quality fabrics, generally mohair (hairs of the Angora goat) or alpaca, sometimes synthetic plush or cotton, but always of quality. Cashmere, suedine, alcantara, microfibre... are also used...

My teddy bears are often one of a kind... Sometimes, limited editions to some specimens.

The joints, are always traditionnal : metal cotterpins and cardboard discs, reinforced for the biggest models by metal discs...

Each time I use glass eyes (except contrary mention for the very small bears) and the nose and the smile are handmade embroidered...

These materials allowed to make quality teddy bears but not convennant with the childrens because not answering the safety requirements...

However, it's possible, on order, to make a teddy bear for children with safety eyes and safety joints...

In the same way, being given materials used, these bears are not washable and it is necessary to call a dyer to clean them.

I thank you for your visit and wish you a pleasant moment on my web site!
